Learning from your kids

Yesterday I went to my first MOPS meeting. It was so great. I got a chance to meet so many wonderful moms! It is amazing how adult conversation in the middle of the day can make you feel:) One of the many questions we talked about was "What has your child taught you?"
One of the things that we said was joy in the little things...so true. Caden taught me another one yesterday. I picked him up from the nursery and he was not feeling well at all. He was crying and I could tell that he did not feel good. We got home and I laid him down for a nap. As I was laying with him, he would look at me through droopy eyes and smile for a second and sigh. He repeated this several times before he finally drifted off to sleep. What I am learning from this aside from the fact that it was so sweet, is that even when things are bad just smile, and breathe, and know there is someone way bigger than you taking care of you! Thank you Caden I needed to be reminded of that today.

MOMMA!!

Okay so for those of you who don't know I have been waiting since caden was 9 months old for him to say momma again. He went through a phase where he said it and then just stopped. He has said dadda for ever and a bunch of other things for a while now. Truth be told I was starting to get my feelings a little hurt. Well I have been doing everything I can to work with him on it. I made up songs, said it in funny voices, said it about 100 times a day. Well Sat.(9/12/09) I went to dance class and when I got home Caden runs up to me and says momma, momma!! :) Now he is saying it more and more all the time. Everyone kept telling me to just wait that when he finally does say it, he will wear it out and you will be tired of it. Well so far I love it more and more every time I hear it, and I couldn't imagine to many other feelings that are better than hearing the child you put all your time and energy into 24/7 say your name with a smile:)
